What better way to spend a long snowy weekend then a trip to Miami! If you don't have the time or money to do that, throw on a pastel t-shirt, push up the sleeves of your sportsjacket and enjoy the 24-hour Miami Vice marathon on TVLand.
The marathon is to promote Miami Vice's addition to the network's line-up in January and I suspect to promote the upcoming film starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell that's based on the series that starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas.
This quintessential 80s series includes an appearance by Miles Davis playing a pimp (for real!); a score by Jan Hammer (with songs by Phil Collins, Glenn Frey, and Sheen Easton; and dialog like: Crockett: "I didn't become a cop to spectate." Tubbs: "Let's nail this pig." Plus lots and lots of pastels (TVLand is calling it "Pastelevision) and a seedy South Beach from when it was still your bubby and zaydie's Miami instead of the bling-bling-a-thon it is today.
