My Heart Breaks For My Hometown

The mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick is in the slammer tonight. Stephen Henderson of the Freep writes:

"Kilpatrick has ruled us as Caesar did Rome. He has turned our fair city into a renegade's playground where his ego, rather than the rule of law, reigns supreme."

Henderson accuses business, religious and civic leaders of remaining quiet during yet another unsavory chapter in the history of Motor City politics.

I just hope there's a way back.
